Kalifornia Jean Bar is owned by people who grew up surrounded by creative inspiration. Christy’s came in the form of musicians who only need one name – Johnny, Willie, Waylon, and Merle – all of whom were close friends and who collaborated on music with her mom and uncle, Lorrie and Larry Collins of The Collins Kids, who are Rockabilly Hall of Fame inductees. Playing softball with Willie Nelson at Lake Tahoe, watching Merle Haggard get married in her backyard in Gardnerville, and watching her Mom duet with Waylon Jennings. These are people who appreciate enduring classics and items that will matter forever … talk about sustainable. When Christy lived in Los Angeles, she worked at the iconic Alan Austin boutique in Beverly Hills, helping dress the who’s who of Hollywood and the world of philanthropists.
Mike was raised in Northern Nevada, spending as much time outdoors as he possibly could, as his father, Maurice (though everyone called him “Mo”), was an avid outdoorsman. He, too, had a Merle in his life … his Mom. Mike had more denim than a kid could need, and maybe - just maybe - wore what’s affectionately known as a Canadian Tuxedo (a denim jacket with his denim jeans). No wonder there was a Mike Hall Fan Club at his high school. The guy is dapper.
Together, Mike and Christy have a background that complements their love of the environment, some great stories, and the clothes that make people pay attention, in the best way.

When you walk into any KJB location, you’re entering someplace special, staffed by the family that owns it, and the friends who are equally committed to excellent customer service. If you’re lucky, you’ll find the unofficial KJB mascot – a cockapoo named Paul – greeting you at the door.
Kalifornia Jean Bar will help you take your commitment to making the world a better place to a chic new level.
